Frequently Asked Questions
Is Clinical Codes free?
Clinical Codes is a one-time purchase of $6.99 on the App Store. There are no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, and no hidden fees. You pay once and get everything — all 15 tools, all features, and all future updates — forever.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Clinical Codes requires no account, no email address, and no login of any kind. Open the app and start tracking immediately.
Which iPhones and iPads are supported?
Clinical Codes requires iOS 17 or later on iPhone, or iPadOS 17 or later on iPad. It works on all iPhone models from iPhone XS onwards, and all iPad models that support iPadOS 17.
How do I reset my onboarding screen?
Go to Settings (tap the gear icon on the home screen) → scroll to the About section → tap "Show Welcome Screen Again". The next time you open the app, the onboarding slides will play from the beginning.
Where is my health data stored?
All your data is stored exclusively on your iPhone or iPad using Apple's SwiftData framework. Nothing is sent to any external server. If you enable iCloud sync, your data syncs privately via your personal iCloud account — we never have access to it.
Does Clinical Codes track me or collect analytics?
No. Clinical Codes contains zero third-party analytics, zero tracking SDKs, and zero advertising frameworks. We have no idea how you use the app. See our full Privacy Policy for details.
How do I delete all my data?
Simply delete the Clinical Codes app from your iPhone. This permanently removes all locally stored health data. If you have iCloud sync enabled, you can also manage app data in Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage. We have no copies of your data.
Is my data backed up?
If you have iCloud backup enabled on your iPhone (Settings → [your name] → iCloud → iCloud Backup), your Clinical Codes data is included in your iPhone backup automatically. Additionally, Clinical Codes supports iCloud sync via CloudKit — enable it in your device's iCloud settings.
How do I set up pill reminders?
Open Pill Tracker → My Pills → tap + to add a pill. Set the name, dosage, and scheduled times. The app will automatically schedule local notifications for each dose. Make sure notifications are enabled for Clinical Codes in iOS Settings → Clinical Codes → Notifications.
How does the Doctor Share feature work?
Tap the stethoscope icon on the home screen. Clinical Codes will generate a single PDF combining your most recent health data from all tools — blood pressure, glucose, medications, weight, appointments, and more. Tap Share to send it via email, AirDrop, or save it to Files.
How do I export a PDF from a specific tool?
Every tool has a PDF export button (📄 or share icon) in the top-right corner of its history view. Tap it to generate and share a PDF of that tool's data.
How do I use the Home Screen Widget?
Long-press your iPhone home screen → tap the + in the corner → search for Clinical Codes → choose small, medium, or large size → tap Add Widget. The widget shows your latest stats without opening the app.
How do I hide tools I don't use?
Tap the gear icon on the home screen to open Settings. Under the Clinical, Fitness, and Wellness sections, toggle off any tools you don't need. They'll disappear from your home screen instantly.
Can I change the weight unit from kg to lbs?
Yes. Go to Settings → Units → toggle "Weight in lbs" on. The Weight Log will immediately switch to showing pounds. Blood Sugar has a similar toggle for mg/dL vs mmol/L.
Does Clinical Codes work with Apple Health?
Yes. Clinical Codes reads and writes the following Apple Health categories:
- Steps (read)
- Blood Pressure (read + write)
- Body Weight (read + write)
- Workouts (read + write)
- Sleep Analysis (read + write)
- Water Intake (read + write)
All HealthKit permissions are optional. The app works fully without them.
My notifications aren't working for pills or appointments.
Check the following:
- Go to iOS Settings → Clinical Codes → Notifications — make sure "Allow Notifications" is on
- Make sure Do Not Disturb is not blocking notifications
- Re-open the Pill Tracker or Appointments screen — a banner will appear if notifications are denied, with a direct link to fix it
- Try deleting and re-adding the pill or appointment to reschedule its notifications
The app isn't syncing between my iPhone and iPad.
Make sure iCloud sync is enabled on both devices:
- Settings → [your name] → iCloud → scroll down and make sure Clinical Codes is toggled on
- Both devices must be signed into the same Apple ID
- Both devices must have an internet connection for initial sync
- CloudKit sync can take a few minutes on first launch
I accidentally deleted a record. Can I recover it?
Unfortunately, deleted records cannot be recovered from within the app. If you have iCloud sync enabled, CloudKit may sync the deletion across devices quickly. We recommend exporting PDFs regularly as a backup of your important health records.
